I’m a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) which is defined as a hearing child who is born to deaf parents. I was born and raised with German Sign Language in Oldenburg, Germany. Due to my excitement for Sign Language and Deaf culture, I moved to Hamburg to extend my studies with English language and literature at the Institut für Deutsche Gebärdensprache.
I came into contact with the Dialoghaus for the first time during an internship with Dialog im Stillen®. Meanwhile, I contributed as a communications assistant, mediating between deaf and hearing people, which was an incredible enrichment of my studies. My goal is for the public to learn more about the fascinating language and culture of the Deaf community, becoming more open towards dealing with deaf people in the process.
