I come from a Lithuanian family that is fourth-generation deaf. One of my biggest passions in life is traveling and learning about other cultures, which is what brought me to Hamburg in 2008. I fell in love with the city immediately. Along with working as a guide at Dialog im Stillen®, I also work as a model for various fashion labels. As sign language is my native language, I know exactly how to best make use of my body language and facial expressions in this context. But compared to the held poses of modelling, I enjoy leading our visitors through this exhibition, guiding them in how to use the body as a means of non-verbal communication. It is my hope that our visitors will gain insight into this new form of communication, while being inspired by this small peek into deaf culture.
