You can book the exhibition Dialogue in the Dark with Corona conditions from Thursdays to Sundays.

Dinner in the Dark is available Saturdays from 7 pm to approx. 10 pm. Tickets available online in the ticketshop.
The general rules of distance and hygiene apply. They will be displayed throughout the Dialogue House. Opportunities for hand disinfection are available centrally at building entrances and on all floors and in freely accessible places. There are sufficient WC facilities with hand basins on all floors. Distance measures are implemented throughout the building. These include floor markings, partition walls and waiting areas in the foyer for different groups of visitors. Masks are compulsory for every visitor during the entire stay in the Dialogue House. Children under 6 years of age do not need to wear a mouth and nose protector. Parents are kindly requested to pay special attention and consideration. All exhibition and event rooms are cleaned regularly and thoroughly. Particular attention is paid to cleaning/disinfection of the surfaces of objects that can be touched.
Visitors from different households with corona restrictions are allowed in a tour. The tour group size is 8 people.
On the basis of the Hamburg SARS-CoV-2 Containment Ordinance in the version valid since 01.07.2020 we are required to document contact details. The recording of personal data serves the sole purpose of tracing possible chains of infection and must be presented to the responsible health authorities on request. We will destroy the data after the prescribed retention period of 4 weeks.
Yes, you must wear a mask during your entire stay in the Dialoghaus.
Visitors and guides wear masks throughout and keep a certain amount of distance.
Our Dinner in the Dark is limited currently to 28 visitors, to guarantee distance rules and your safety. Each Corona community sits at a separate table with sufficient distance to other tables.
Yes, Corona communities of max. 10 persons may come from different households.
Yes, our tickets are available in our ticketshop online.
All online tickets from the closed period remain valid and can be redeemed until the end of 2021. Reservations can be made by email Please bring your old tickets for your visit and provide them at the reception.
We would regret this very much. Should you still wish to cancel your tickets, please contact us by email at with the following information: booking number, date, name, refund request and account details. We will consider any request and a possible refund. This option is only available for tickets valid until 30.09.2020.
In October we only offer 60 minutes tours.
Individual visitors should be here 15 minutes before a tour starts. For groups we request 30 minutes.


Dialoghaus Hamburg gGmbH | Alter Wandrahm 4 | 20457 Hamburg (Speicherstadt)

Dialoghaus Hamburg is located in the Hamburg Speicherstadt (a UNESCO world heritage site). We can be easily reached by public transport from the city-centre and the harbour area. From Hamburg’s central station, it is a short walk of about 10 minutes. The underground station is called Messberg.

Dialoghaus is only partially disability accessible. All programs in the ground floor, such as the exhibitions Dialog im Dunkeln, the Dinner in the Dark are disability accessible. The exhibitions Dialog im Stillen, Dialog mit der Zeit and all event areas in the 2nd floor are not disability accessible.

Directions by public transport

  • Arriving by underground, take the U1 line to Messberg and then head for the exit marked ‘Deichtorhallen’
  • Arriving by bus: take the Metrobus 3 and get off at the stop ‘Bei St Annen’
  • Arriving by foot from the Central station, it is about a ten minute walk

Directions by car

Please note that we do not have dedicated parking spaces, and parking in the area can sometimes be problematic. However there are two multi-story car parks close by:

  • Sandtorkai Parkhaus (Am Sandtorkai 6-8)
  • Parkhaus Deichtorhallen (Oberbaumbrücke 1)

Dialoghaus is located in a one-way road (Alter Wandrahm), access is via Oberbaumbrücke.
